Rebel Highway

The idea for the Rebel Highway series (1994) on Showtime came about this way: in the early 90s, producers Lou Arkoff and Debra Hill decided to reshoot the classics of the B-movies of the 50s. The directors had to hire aspiring actors and shoot films in 12 days with a budget of $1.3 million. This is how the films of the cult series Rebel Highway appeared.

The series is worth watching at least because of the young actors at the beginning of their careers, because here are David Arquette, Selma Hayek, Jamie Looner, Alyssa Milano, Carla Gugino, Jake Busey, Paul Rudd, Julie Bowen, Anne Heche, Missy Kreider, Renee Zellweger, Mark Dacascos, Natasha Gregson Wagner, Shannen Doherty, Anthony Sabato, Adrian Brody, Jared Leto, Alicia Silverstone, Aimee Graham, Matt LeBlanc and others.

It is quite obvious which movie was the best and remains so to this day, but others are also recommended for viewing. Movies for TV were shown on Fridays, starting on July 22, 1994 and ending on September 23 (except that the Motorcycle Gang came out on Monday). It’s a good start before the fall studies for teenagers, isn’t it?
