What is the secret of success on Instagram?
I like to talk a lot about myself and what I like to do. Because I love going to the beach, my profile has a real summer theme that many of my followers love to see. I like to imagine a happy and healthy lifestyle, it’s a real trend now.
What is the origin of your surname “Mendonca”?
My father was born on an island off the coast of Brazil called Fernando de Noronha. I have a strong Brazilian culture and I am very proud of my family background. And my mom is half Dutch.
What are you interested in besides modeling?
Anyone who knows me at least a little knows that I like to spend time traveling along the coast. Every time I finish work, I go straight to my boyfriend Hugh’s house and head to the beach. I also love spending time with my two dogs, Jack and Bella, they love the beach as much as I do, if not more! I’ve also always been interested in flying airplanes. I’m always in the air, flying from New South Wales, where my mom lives, to Queensland, where my dad lives, and when I see the cockpit, I get so excited. I love documentaries about airplanes, and I hope that one day I will be lucky enough to fly one of them!
What is your vision of your life?
My vision for my life is never to depend on one place. My mom is a businesswoman, and she inspires me to become a successful woman like her. I see myself working in business and traveling to different places to help people around the world.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I’ve ever received is from my dad, he always tells me to never be a follower, but to be a leader. His advice made me who I am today and helped me through some of the most difficult times. He’s my real hero.
What do you like most about Australia?
I love that in Australia you can live a crazy, chaotic urban lifestyle, but then just an hour away you find yourself in a small coastal town where you get to know all the locals in a day. I grew up in Newcastle, which is two hours from Sydney, and now I live in the Sunshine Coast, an hour from Brisbane. If I ever wanted to go shopping or attend an event in one of the major cities, I always had the opportunity, and then I returned home to my small hometown. I also love the Australian beaches, wherever I go, I think I’m in paradise. I always see dolphins and whales along the coastline, just a few minutes from my house. I couldn’t be happier in the place where I live.
What is your main style advice for men?
I like to see a guy in black jeans with a T-shirt and a hat, it’s so simple, but that’s what I like about it. I like it when guys choose comfort over looks, so for men reading this, I’d suggest going out and buying a pair of Rohes or Janoskis, a pair of Havaianas, and an LWA hat.
What do you think about when you pose for a photo shoot?
About nothing! I try not to think too much, otherwise the pictures will turn out unnatural. I really like intermediate shots, so usually when I shoot, I look like I’m dancing. And I like to shoot fast!
How long have you been working as a model?
In general, since 2012, but since 2015 on an ongoing basis. Since I was 15, I was 180 cm tall, so I was constantly harassed by modeling agents. I never showed much interest until my dad said, “Let’s try it.” He did a little research to find the best agency.
What would you do if you weren’t working as a model?
I love animals and wanted to become a veterinarian, but I completed an internship at a veterinary clinic and realized that this was not for me. I also wanted to become a pilot, so if I hadn’t been working as a model, I feel like I might have flown airplanes.

What was the most difficult thing for you during COVID?
I think the most difficult thing is the unknown. I was just trying to train and stay motivated during isolation. It’s so easy to break out of my routine, wake up at the right time, and make a to-do list for the day, it really helped me get through difficult times.
How can a man win your heart?
Do something that shows concern, and cute little gestures will always win me over. Wait! He must also love dogs!
What are you looking for in a man?
To be caring and to love hugging. And men, you all need to know how to fix things around the house! I also like it when men talk to me and tell me how they feel, because sometimes it’s hard to get it out of them.
Anything else?
I also like sociable guys with beautiful eyes, and I just now noticed that I like guys with thick eyebrows.
What have you learned about men all the time?
Always communicate with them. Boys never know what you’re thinking until you tell them—even when you think they know, trust me, they don’t.
What should men always know about women?
Be honest and communicate. Never ask, “Are you acting like this because of your period?” never! I’m not speaking for everyone, but I like it when men do little things to show that they care about you.
