“People said, well, what a model you are, you’re so thin, and of course I wasn’t sure of myself while I was listening to them. I started shooting, the first shoot was in North Carolina. A local boutique invited her to shoot, they said you’re so attractive, we’ll give you our clothes, we’ll shoot. And I liked the photos, although the clothes were very ordinary, and I decided that it suits me, I will do it. Already in Miami, I was contacted again, this time by an online store, an online boutique. And she shot as many times a day as she could and made a portfolio, and then signed a contract with the agency. It helps a lot to develop self-confidence.
I need to work on my confidence, I wasn’t born with it initially, it’s something that’s been shaped over the years. There’s a lot to learn. Be aware of your camera angles, the time of day when it’s best to shoot, the lights and cameras, so that you can be on the same wavelength as the photographers and speak the same language with them.
I’m not one of those who was born with a sense of comfort around the camera, but I need to practice and learn. If you’re a creative person, you’ll always find new locations and new opportunities. You can find everything in Miami.
My favorite place in Miami is the beaches. I generally like everything here, I feel comfortable.”
