Perhaps the absolute quintessence of the entire history of the American automotive method is the Hummer H1 dragster. With a 10-liter Chevrolet engine that has been almost completely redesigned, and to which is bolted a monstrous centrifugal supercharger 136 supercharger from the F series.
Okay, it’s not really a Hummer H1. The car’s owner, Grant Fraizer from California, spent three years building this car from scratch. The body was made of aluminum and externally copies the Hummer H1 down to the smallest detail. There is nothing inside that could resemble the famous car.
For comparison, a standard army Humvee has a top speed of 113 km/h with about 190 horsepower when it’s not too hot. Comrade Fraizer’s unit runs on methanol, produces 3019 horsepower, and accelerates to a hundred in two seconds.
Definitely one of the craziest creations in my memory.
