Here’s another beautiful ship for you, built in the PTeazer workshop, which specializes in – you’d never guess – PT Cruisers. There are many interesting projects in their portfolio. For example, a PT Cruiser with a 426 Hemi under the hood. Or the PT Cruiser, with two removable rigid roofs, thanks to which it is a full-fledged hardtop, a convertible and a roadster for two. In theory, you can write a separate article about each of them, and maybe one day we will, but at the moment we already have an overabundance of PT Cruisers. Therefore, for now we will focus on the cutest of all the projects built in PTeazer, which, in my opinion, is California Kroozer.
So, according to the owner, it took five years to find a craftsman who could cut down the roof and at the same time keep all the electronics in the windows and doors of the car. Moreover, as a result, it was possible to preserve even the functionality of the hatch. As a result, the top became eighteen centimeters lower in front and ten centimeters lower in the back. After that, the roof was extended and expanded. We also expanded all the window posts, extended the hood and installed arch extensions at the back so that we could put bigger wheels.
The car was completely shaved: all the nameplates, door handles, molding – everything was removed. The neck of the fuel tank was redirected to the trunk. The taillights were borrowed from the 1956 Oldsmobile, which is really a retro solution. The interior of the car is almost completely covered with suede leather.
Well, a lot of other custom work on the exterior: trunk, radiator grille, rear-view mirrors, and so on. A very painstaking rework. Unfortunately, once again there is no information about whether anything has been changed under the hood of the car, so it is worth assuming that everything is stock. Anyway, externally, California Kroozer is definitely one of the best PT Cruisers.
Perhaps one day we will see the PT Cruiser, which will combine both solid work on the power unit and a skillful redesign of the exterior in one car. In the meantime, it’s what it is. Thank you all for your attention.
