B-52 – cocktail recipe

Alcoholic cocktails are easy and simple to make, and there are many nuances that must always be taken into account. This is real alchemy in a glass. Consider, for example, the B-52, one of the most classic and easily recognizable cocktails in the world.

Recipe:
1 part coffee liqueur
1 part cream liqueur
1 part of orange liqueur

Carefully pour coffee liqueur into the shot in layers, then cream liqueur, then orange liqueur.

Cocktail B-52, ready to drink.

My notes:
Even such a simple cocktail has a number of subtleties and nuances.

First, you should definitely drink it all in one gulp. This is a somewhat individual moment, and for me personally, 1 part in this case is equal to 20 ml, therefore one cocktail is 60 ml.

Set it on fire. You must set it on fire. And wait for about five seconds. Heated alcohol is absorbed into the body faster, and you will lose a lot in taste if there is no fire. Just make sure that your shot has a thick enough glass.

It is better to drink through a metal tube without extinguishing the fire. If there are only plastic tubes at hand, use a plastic tube, but then you have no more than five to seven seconds. But if you don’t have any tubes, then it’s better to put out the fire. Or risk becoming one of the heroes of numerous videos.

It is better to take coffee liqueur that is not sweet. The rest of the ingredients are already very sweet, so a tart start will only be a pleasant addition. I prefer Borghetti. There is also Molinari, a sambuca coffee liqueur. The anise flavor makes this liqueur very specific, but in B-52, an additional note of sambuca can only be a plus.

The original recipe recommends Baileys as a creamy liqueur, but I consider Baileys to be an outright pop among creamy liqueurs. He is loved by the masses, but he is tasteless and useless. Better take Mozart – they make a range of a wide variety of chocolate cream liqueurs. Amarullo is also a good fit, and it gives a slightly fruity touch. If your religion does not allow you to use anything other than Irish Cream in the B-52, then… pfft, it may be difficult, but try to get a bottle of Coole Swan. Somewhat more expensive, but many times better than Baileys.

Orange liqueur – of course, Cointreau or Grand Marnier. What exactly is solely to your taste. Both burn well at room temperature. If they were stored in the refrigerator, they need to be warmed up a little before they light up.

The B-52 is delicious. Very tasty. Like a piece of hot, fresh from the oven, sweet cake with alcohol. The perfect dessert.
