Okay, amigos, now I’m going to tell you a little bit about Tequila Sunrise. It’s just a super culturally popular cocktail. I think, not least because of the damn beautiful name. The Eagles named their song after them, as did Cypress Hill, and here and there the heroes of movies and TV series order this cocktail. Seriously, I’m willing to bet that all this is just because Tequila Sunrise sounds beautiful.
Because in fact, the cocktail is, well, a little bland and not far from the Screwdriver in its complexity. To be honest, I was somewhat disappointed when I tried Tequila Sunrise for the first time. In general, there won’t be many nuances, as the cocktail is quite strict in its recipe, but nevertheless…
Recipe:
6 parts of orange juice
3 parts of tequila
1 part of the Grenadine
Use a tall glass or goblet. Pour in the tequila, add ice, then pour in the orange juice, then add the grenadine. Do not mix.
My notes:
You can also mix it slightly if you really want to. Then it is not necessary to pour everything in strict order.
Tequila can be used in a variety of ways, like Blanco, Reposado, or Anejo. It just depends on your personal taste, and which you want to focus on more – tequila or orange juice.
If you have good, delicious tequila, or you just want to get stronger, feel free to swap the proportions of tequila and juice. You won’t lose anything. Honestly.
And if you make the syrup yourself, then the shades of sugar used are clearly felt in this cocktail, both in color and taste. You can cook grenadine syrup with darker sugar. In our stores, for example, you can find Billington’s Dark Muscovado. If you use it or something similar, the syrup, and with it a cocktail, will acquire chocolate notes, and the color of the drink is perfect, for example, for Halloween.
For you.
