In 2018, she signed a contract with Victoria’s Secret. Modeling agencies Elite model, Wilhelmina, and others work with her. Sadie is also known for her initiatives in practical psychology and mental health, as she herself struggles with psychological problems such as anxiety and panic attacks. A few years ago, she created an Inner Piece Instagram account where people share their stories, problems, and ways to solve them.
Why did you launch Inner Piece?
I’ve been working as a model for 11 years and I’m interested in people and what makes us who we are. I wanted to give friends, family, and complete strangers the opportunity to express what’s important to them without being judged. It’s wonderful to realize that no matter who we are or what we do, we have thoughts, feelings, and fears that unite us. It is very important to communicate and speak out in order to improve our mental well-being and better understand ourselves.
At a time when it’s easiest to stay in touch, why does it become more difficult to understand each other?
I think we’re replacing real human communication and understanding with the illusion of it being on social media. Of course, social media can unite us, but in the end everyone flaunts themselves, but all this is only superficial and we don’t really know what’s going on inside a person.
What are some small but important pleasures for you?
As I got older, I realized that life consists of big and small pleasures. For me, it’s a cup of coffee somewhere outdoors in the morning before the start of the day. The best that can be.
What keeps you awake at night?
My anxiety worsens at night. Everything I’ve ever done decides to flood into my thoughts and it increases the panic. I really have to concentrate to calm down and practice meditation before I go to bed.
What are you trying to improve in yourself in terms of mental balance and happiness in general?
I’m trying to change the way I talk to myself. I can be extremely negative in my internal dialogue, but I never talk to someone else like that, so why should I talk to myself like that?
