Maila Dalbecio, American model and artist (98 photos)

A beautiful girl whose last name doesn’t sound very euphonious in Russian: this is Myla Dalbesio, an American model. Someone writes “Mila” instead of “Mail”, but this is the wrong option. Mila was born on June 26, 1987 (zodiac sign Cancer) in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Maila, as a teenager, was considered a plus-size model, but there are no clear criteria in this classification (and her parameters were 87/74/104 with a height of more than 180 cm). Usually, the terms plus-size or body-positive are used for overweight models who are not devoid of attractiveness, but go beyond all model limits and “yes, I’m fat, and I love myself for it.” There’s nothing wrong with Maila, she’s a very attractive and sexy girl. It’s very easy to be body positive when you’re among the top 1% of the most attractive girls in this world.

Her mother is a photographer, her father is a musician, and her grandfather was an artist. Maila is also passionate about art, tried her hand at photography, sculpture and installations, painting, collage, etc. You can view her work on her website.

At one time, she was inspired by the 70s grindhouse, the films of Russ Meyer, Jack Hill and the like. She liked the archetypes of strong women they created, and their stars were like sex-positive jerks who felt very comfortable in their bodies. They know what they want, they are not afraid to demand it, and they do everything to get it.

Maila began her modeling career in 2010, although she had been acting a bit before. You can also find nude photos of her on the Internet. For example, this nude Venus del Myla shoot by photographer Alexandra Nataf for Unconditional Magazine, which Maila considers one of her favorites. Ms. Dalbecio has also starred for Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, H&M, Sports Illustrated, and others.

Participating in one of the campaigns for Calvin Klein was a breakthrough in the fashion world for her, just like for Dorit Revelis. The Calvin Klein brand is known for launching the careers of such stars as Brooke Shields and Kate Moss. And then Maila was accepted into the campaign when she was already 27 years old, and it was very unusual that they took an ordinary girl. Maila explains the secret of her success by saying that she watched America’s Next Top Model and listened to Tyra Banks’ advice about posing. Someone makes a breakthrough at the age of 15-16, and someone at 27! Nevertheless, girls with good shapes, big breasts and a booty are rarely accepted as models by such brands. It’s not plus-size, but it’s bigger than the usual model standards.

Her career began like this: at the age of 16, Maila became a member of Miss Teen Wisconsin (she grew up in Racine, California). Wisconsin), where she was spotted by scouts from Mother Model Management (they once involved Karlie Kloss and Ashton Katcher in the modeling business), but asked her to lose 5-7 kg. She tried, tried all kinds of diets, but nothing worked. At one time, she even struggled with bulimia. Then I started taking Adderall, and later I became addicted to it. “I thought that I would take a pill and not eat, and also that it would help me exercise.” However, she didn’t lose much weight, and when she arrived in New York at the age of 18, she asked the agents for a meeting. She was told that she would be considered a plus-size, which she was very embarrassed about. “I was thinking, how come? I buy clothes in regular stores.” It’s amazing how the fashion world works, it’s beyond the comprehension of a teenager from Wisconsin.

And then, in order to be a successful model, she was told to gain weight, which, however, she also failed. About the beginning of her modeling career, Maila recalls that the first two years were almost fruitless.:

“I was a bad model. I didn’t know how to dress, how to make up and style my hair. I didn’t know how to behave in front of the camera. But I’m one of those people who doesn’t give up if they signed up, and I really wanted to do it.”
