Groozer: 2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser

So, I ask you to turn your attention to a project by Ronnie Gross from Denmark called Groozer. Like everything else related to PT Cruiser, Groozer is polarizing: for some, it seems that it makes an initially ugly car even uglier; for some, it seems that the car’s potential has finally been unlocked to the point of superiority. Well, anything between these two opinions is inclusive.

Personally, I like the project. One of the best PT Cruisers in terms of exterior. Yes, the project is purely cosmetic, but let me point out two facts. Firstly, Denmark has exceptionally expensive cars. I’m literally looking right now and seeing how much the cheapest PT Cruiser costs on one of the Danish websites. So… drum roll… 2096555 rubles for a 2007 car. Yes, yes, more than two million rubles for a ten-year-old car. And this is the cheapest one. The rest are only more expensive.

And secondly, the amount of work that Comrade Gross has put into his Groozer is really impressive. With the help of friends, they were manually made and redesigned: the entire rear part, including a custom trunk with a glass divider and LED taillights, front bumper, radiator grille, hood. The rear doors were replaced with rear doors, a sliding ragtop appeared in the roof, and an Air Ride air suspension was installed – there is nowhere for such a car without it.

And the disks, of course. Nothing says “retro” like spoke discs. 100 spokes, 18 inches in front and 20 in back. So, like it or not, it’s simply criminal to completely ignore such a complex and high-quality project. At least, that’s what I think.
