Let me offer you a cocktail that is relatively difficult to prepare, but the taste of it is definitely worth the effort. This thing is called an Estate Cocktail. And yes, the photo is mine, and I’m not a photographer, but an alcoholic, so I’m sorry for the quality. I tried. Honestly.
Recipe:
9 parts vodka
4.5 parts grapefruit juice
3 parts lemon juice
1.5 parts lime juice
1 part plain syrup
Mint
Soda
Pour the first five ingredients into a shaker with ice. Shake until cool, then add a few mint leaves and shake a few more times. Strain into a cocktail glass or goblet. Add a little soda, to taste, and garnish with mint.
My notes:
Of course, the recipe recommends a cocktail glass, but I find that in the case of large portions, these glasses are quite well replaced by beer cups.
What’s so difficult about cooking? Three types of juices are needed. Since I prefer freshly squeezed juices, it was difficult for me personally to squeeze three types of citrus fruits and clean the juicer meticulously after each of them. When I’m lazy, I can still find grapefruit juice in a bottle, but with lemons and limes it won’t work that way.
I do not recommend adding mint immediately to simplify the action – it will be too much, and this is not a Mojito.
Remember that mineral water and soda are different things. Mineral water in this particular case may be suitable, due to the extremely small amount required in the recipe, but I have not tried it, since in principle I do not like mineral water. And, of course, you don’t have to add soda at all, but I think it’s worth adding a little bit – it’s too concentrated.
In general, it is a premium item for all lovers of the classic combination of alcohol and citrus fruits.
